Lecture: Investigative journalism and the fight against disinformation

Within the framework of the event, held on October 24, 2023, students of the Journalism Department of the AIU had the opportunity to listen to a guest lecture conducted by Cornelia Kozonak, chairman and one of the founders of the Center for Investigative Journalism of Moldova.

During this event, students gained valuable knowledge about the processes of journalistic investigations in the field of illegal enrichment and corruption among officials. Cornelia Kozonak shared her experience in documenting and uncovering corruption, and also discussed the importance of journalism as a tool to combat negative phenomena in society.

The second part of the lecture was devoted to the problem of propaganda, disinformation and fake news. Students received information about the methods of combating these phenomena in modern media and journalism. Cornelia Kozonak emphasized the importance of critical thinking and fact-checking in the modern information landscape.

This lecture provided students with the opportunity to gain valuable practical knowledge and inspiration for their future journalistic career, especially in the context of the fight against corruption and disinformation.
